Jasleen Aulakh Kalsi

Michigan Marriage and Family Therapist

Licensed therapist offering family and individual counseling at Lehr Therapy in Macomb County, Michigan.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Michigan. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and reconnect with their genuine selves. With a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a background in Special Education, my transition from teaching to therapy was motivated by the toll global events and systemic imbalances had on my students and their families. As an immigrant, woman of color, and member of the Sikh community, I bring a trauma-informed and systemic perspective to my work. I am especially committed to serving marginalized communities - offering a culturally humble space where clients feel understood, heard, and empowered to heal and grow. I provide therapy in English, Punjabi, and Hindi.

Blending Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, my approach is collaborative and strength-based. I believe in fostering a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can uncover their resilience and tap into practical tools for lasting change. Outside of therapy, I find joy in hiking, traveling, writing, and continually learning new ideas and perspectives.

Jasleen’s Therapeutic Approach

My approach is rooted in understanding the complexities of each client's lived experience within their social and cultural context. I take a systemic and trauma-informed perspective to highlight the interconnectedness between individuals, their environments and relationships. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges and strengths. Drawing on Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, I collaborate with clients to help them reconnect with their resilience, while offering practical tools to foster growth and healing. My goal is to empower individuals, couples, and families to navigate life's obstacles with confidence and clarity, always recognizing the unique wisdom and strength they bring to the process.

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
